Trae Young is a huge thorn in the side of the New York Knicks, as the Atlanta Hawks point guard is a problem the Knickerbockers don't seem to have an idea on how to slow him down. But what makes Young even more annoying to the Knicks is his next-level junk talk that betrays his miniature physique. Derrick Rose has talked about it before, but one dude on the Knicks side who's obviously not going to let Young get away easily with trash-talking is veteran Taj Gibson.

Here's Gibson and Young exchanging “pleasantries” in the middle of the court during the second quarter of Game 4 Sunday.

Gibson has been around the league for so long to just let Young slide without giving the guard something in return. Believe it or not, the culture of trash-talking is older than Taj Gibson. It's as old as the game. A throwback player like Gibson would want someone like Young to show him even a bit of respect, but that's clearly not what he's getting from the former Oklahoma Sooners star.

Trae Young appeared to have agitated Gibson, even more, when he stared him down following a shot, per Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News.

You got to admire Young's fearlessness in the playoffs. He's taking the fight right into the chin of the Knicks, who couldn't afford to lose Game 4 and fall down a 1-3 series hole — a situation that would virtually get them to hear the death knell of their season.

It's now up to the Knicks how they would respond, outside of the words that Taj Gibson had already hurled at Young, of course.
