The New York Knicks will be without Tim Hardaway Jr. when they take on the Phoenix Suns at Madison Square Garden on Monday. Courtney Lee is set to replace the 26-year-old shooting guard in the starting lineup.

Tim Hardaway Jr. is dealing with a sore right heel, forcing the Knicks to sideline him and give the starting nod to Courtney Lee.

Hardaway Jr. is the Knicks' leading scorer on the year, averaging 21.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game this season. He is also shooting 39.5 percent from the field, 35.8 percent from beyond the arc and 85.4 percent from the free-throw line.

Lee has only appeared in six games thus far this season due to a neck injury which forced him to miss the early part of the year. The 11-year veteran is putting up 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds and shooting 33.3 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent from the 3-point line in the six games he has played in.

Moreover, this could be a “showcase” game for Lee. There have been reports that have stated the Knicks are looking to move the 33-year-old veteran and his contract. Lee has two years and $25 million left on the four-year, $48 million free-agent deal he signed with New York in 2016.

New York enters Monday with a record of 9-22, 12th place in the East.
