The New York Knicks have not played the type of basketball they had hoped for this season, as they are now the Eastern Conference's 12th seed with a 24-28 record.

One of the biggest reasons the Knicks have struggled this season is that they did a poor job of bringing in players who can contribute to the team during the offseason. The Knicks clearly needed to go out and grab a star, but they failed to do so, instead bringing in players like Evan Fournier and Kemba Walker on deals that made no sense and were massive overpays.

At this year's deadline, the Knicks are hoping to deal a couple of their components in order to reclaim the player they so desperately need. The New York Post reports that the Knicks are considering dealing Kemba Walker.

“According to a source, the Knicks would like to trade him by the deadline. That would likely open up a spot for the recently acquired Cam Reddish, because Alec Burks would slide into the point-guard role.”

“One NBA source said he doubts any team would be willing to give up anything beyond a future second-round draft pick for Walker.”

It would make sense if the Knicks decided to deal Kemba Walker, but as the New York Post said, they would be hard pressed to acquire anything in exchange, according to their source. He's certainly past his prime, and not many teams will want an aging guard who can't contribute.
