It appears the New York Knicks will indeed be targeting Indiana Pacers star guard Victor Oladipo this offseason, according to Marc Berman of New York Post.

While Rose, the Knicks rookie president, has [Chris] Paul on his trade radar, putting together a package for younger Pacers’ guard Victor Oladipo is expected to be a higher priority, according to NBA officials.

The Knicks have once more put themselves in an intriguing position to land a star in the Big Apple, much like they did last offseason before ultimately failing. This time, it could involve trading for Oladipo versus signing a big-name free agent.

For what it's worth, Oladipo has went on record to deny his desire to be traded from Indiana, even adding he is clueless to where the Knicks rumors originated.

The former Indiana University guard made a short-lived comeback in the NBA Disney Bubble in Orlando before the Pacers' season was chopped down in the first round of the playoffs by the Miami Heat. He suffered a ruptured quad tendon in January of 2019, causing him to miss the remainder of that campaign and most of the 2019-20 season.

Upon returning in just 13 games before the NBA postponed the season due to COVID-19, he appeared to be a shell of his former self as he struggled to get his rhythm and athleticism back. However, he had glimpses of elite productivity during the first round of the playoffs against the Heat, averaging 17.8 points while shooting 39.3 percent from the field.

The Knicks will still have to put together an enticing package that the Pacers would find acceptable enough to part ways with their two-way star, assuming that the rumors that have circulated are indeed true.
