Indiana Pacers big man Myles Turner might be on his way to the Mecca as the New York Knicks have been apparently aggressive in acquiring him. According to J Michael of the Indianapolis Star, the Knicks have been ‘trying hard' to get Turner to the Big Apple in the hopes of forming a talented frontcourt tandem between him and reigning Most Improve Player Julius Randle.

Michael also did note, however, that the Pacers have been taking their time ahead of free agency and it seems that the organization isn't ready to ‘bust up their core'.
Turner has been low-key one of the hottest names being thrown around in the past few free agency windows. The 25-year-old has been a beast on the block for the Pacers, leading the league in blocks in two of the past three seasons. The Texas native has been linked with the Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics in prior windows and, now, it seems that the surging Knicks are looking to be the front-runners in acquiring the defensive specialist.
New York already has a defensive-minded big man in Mitchell Robinson but adding a more proven weapon in the paint in Turner could be huge for the Knicks as they'll be poised to form one of the most promising, young frontcourts in the league with Mitchell, Turner, and Randle.
Depth was a problem for head coach Tom Thibodeau down the stretch as the Knicks ran out of gas in their incredible return to the playoffs last season. If they can pull all the stops and somehow land Myles Turner this summer, look for New York to contend for another postseason campaign with a renewed frountcourt set-up.
