The New York Knicks traded for Cam Reddish a few weeks back, but the former Duke standout has barely seen a lick of playing time. He's featured in just three games, spending a total of 20 minutes on the floor.

Basically, it appears that Tom Thibodeau has zero interest in using Reddish as a consistent rotational player and according to an NBA source close to the New York Post's Marc Berman, it appears the Knicks head coach never wanted to trade for Reddish. Yet, team president Leon Rose went ahead and did it anyway:

Word around the league is when Knicks president Leon Rose moved to strike a deal with Atlanta on Jan. 15, the head coach wasn’t all-in on the move.

“From my understanding, Thibs didn’t want him and they did it anyway,’’ said an NBA source who has been in contact with Knicks brass.

Nevertheless, the Knicks are looking to move at least one player by Thursday's deadline. That will probably be Kemba Walker, which means Alec Burks would slot in as the team's starting PG. Could that mean more minutes for Reddish? Well, not exactly. Once Derrick Rose returns from ankle surgery, which should be not too long after the All-Star Break, Reddish's role will likely be limited again.

Reddish wanted out of Atlanta prior to this season because he wanted more opportunities elsewhere. So far, that's certainly not happening on the Knicks. If Thibs really doesn't want him in the rotation, then it's going to be extremely hard for Reddish to find playing time. Certainly not an ideal situation. At this point, he might've been better off staying with the Hawks.
