The new NBA season is off to a sizzling start, made all the more better with a handful of players having to face their former teams this early on.

On Wednesday, fans were treated to seeing Kyrie Irving in a Boston Celtics uniform taking on his former running mate LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Thursday night had another tasty matchup in store, with the New York Knicks taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder, who were both involved in an offseason trade with Carmelo Anthony being shipped off to OKC.

With the trade, the Knicks are pushing all of their future's chips on former first-round pick Kristaps Porzingis, who has shown that he can perform tremendously in the NBA level coming out of Latvia. Porzingis proved his worth yet again right from the get-go this season with a highlight reel-worthy block on his former teammate Anthony.

The Knicks haven't been in conversations regarding playoff contenders for quite some time now, and perhaps shipping Carmelo Anthony to the Thunder to start a youth movement in the Big Apple is what's best for them to get back into the postseason picture. They'll certainly need more huge plays like the one above.
