A new song

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Black revealed that he and his band are writing a song for Kung Fu Panda 4. The song will be featured in the credits of the film.

“We've been working on a couple of things. I got a new Kung Fu Panda coming out next year, and they asked if we would do a song for the credits,” Black revealed.

It appears that Kung Fu Panda 4 is hoping to capture the success Black had with “Peaches.” The song was featured in the Super Mario Bros. Movie earlier this year and instantly became a hit in pop culture.

The franchise is returning after eight years away. It has been a successful franchise, making $1.8 billion worldwide across its first three installments. Both of the first two installments made over $600 million worldwide, respectively, while the third failed to do so. It still made $521 million which was enough to warrant a third sequel.

Tenacious D has been around since 1994. Black and Kyle Gase are the two members of the duo. They have made numerous film and TV appearances and have released four albums. As a duo, they've also garnered two Grammy Award nominations (and one win).

Jack Black is known for his roles in High Fidelity, Shallow Hal, School of Rock, King Kong, and Nacho Libre. In recent years, Black has starred in the Jumanji series, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, and Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. He will return to the Kung Fu Panda series in the fourth film and also star in Borderlands.
