Derek Ciapala and Michael Stewart look at the Los Angeles Rams' week, including the departures of several key free agents and strength and conditioning coach Ted Rath's criminal charges. They also break down the Rams' backup quarterback options.
First, Derek and Mike look back on all the major free agency losses in the last week. They digest the loss of long-time veteran Rams Lamarcus Joyner, Mark Barron and Rodger Saffold. The former starting offensive guard leaves the biggest impact on the team. They discuss whether or not they believe Joseph Noteboom is ready to step in for Saffold.
The guys open the second segment by addressing the elephant in the room: Ted Rath's arrest. What should the Rams do with Rast? Should they cut their losses with Rath or wait for criminal proceedings to finish? How should the Rams handle this in today's world?
Finally, Derek and Mike look at the Rams' backup quarterback options. Former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles will visit the Rams on Monday. However, is he the right man for the job? What should the Rams do at the backup position? Would the team be better off finding a young, developmental quarterback in the draft? Or would the Rams be wise to find a veteran that can manage a game if needed. They guys break it all down in this episode of Rams Talk Radio.
