Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball had a standout performance during the summer league. He was even named Las Vegas' MVP after averaging 16.3 points, 9.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game.

However, if there is anything else that the tournament revealed besides his potential, it's that there are still flaws in his game that he needs to polish. And Lakers coach Luke Walton made sure that their prized rookie knows this.

Speaking to Kurt Helin of NBC Sports, Lonzo Ball revealed that Walton told him to improve on his strength and ball screens – aspects of his game which he said he is currently working on ahead of training camp.

“Strength, because I’m going against men every night,” Ball told NBC of what Luke Walton told him to work on after Summer League. “But the biggest thing on the court was probably ball screens, playing point guard ball screens is a big part of the game, especially in today’s game. So he definitely put a lot of emphasis on that.”

After being selected second overall by the Lakers in the 2017 NBA Draft, Ball is certainly carrying tons of pressure on his shoulders. However, it is a good thing he has an experienced coach in Walton who is ready to help him live up to expectations.

Lakers fans will also be happy that Lonzo Ball is keeping his mind on basketball despite all the distractions that the offseason brings and is exerting more effort to improve.
