It has been one year to the day since the tragic passing of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, and the NBPA has decided to honor him with 450 custom jerseys.

The players' association is honoring the late Black Mamba with custom jerseys to be given to active players on last season's rosters.

The league and the world were in shock last year when Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi and seven others were killed in a helicopter accident. The whole sports community mourned, as tributes poured in.

For their part, the Lakers made sure to honor the legacy of Kobe as they set out to win the 2020 NBA title.

Nonetheless, the league wants to carry on the legacy of Kobe, stating that “the jersey is a symbol of our unity and commitment to carry on Kobe's legacy.”

The five-time NBA Champion was one of the best to ever play the game and will go down in history in the ever-debated GOAT conversation, and for good reason.

Bryant was an 18-time All-Star with the Lakers and made the All Defense First Team 12 times. He also has two NBA Finals MVP awards.

On Monday, Nets guard Kyrie Irving showed up with a Lakers number eight jersey in dedication to Bryant, who Irving said was one of his idols growing up.

The world has been filled with nostalgic memories and famous anecdotes from everybody that knew Kobe on the one-year anniversary of his passing, and the NBA hopes to continue to remember the legacy of the great Black Mamba.
