The Los Angeles Lakers made headlines of late after news erupted that the defending champs had just brought in Dennis Schroder via a trade deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder. This has been seen as a tremendous move for the Lakers, and apparently, L.A. superstar Anthony Davis is in complete agreement.

In a recent appearance on the Posted Up with C. Haynes program, Davis explained why he believes Schroder's arrival in Los Angeles will be beneficial for the Lakers' title defense next season:

“He’s a great pickup, with Schröder alongside LeBron, and the other guys they (Lakers) decide to acquire or whatever…I think it was a good pickup,” Davis said (h/t Donny McHenry of Lakers Outsiders). “Like you said, he could easily win sixth man of the year, any given year. He played great alongside C.P. (Chris Paul) and Shai (Gilgeous-Alexander). He’s tough, he shot the ball well this year, he can get in the paint, he can find guys, and he’s very, very scrappy. I think it was a good move, a good pickup for the Los Angeles Lakers.”

As Davis expressed above, Schroder was one of the best players in the entire NBA last season coming off the bench. The 27-year-old averaged 18.9 points (on 46.9 percent shooting), 3.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists, while also knocking down 1.9 triples per game. The German national averaged 30.8 minutes per contest, and while he might not see the same amount of workload for the Lakers, Schroder is still expected to play a pivotal role for the Purple & Gold next term.
