Los Angeles Lakers fans received some tremendous news on the Anthony Davis front on Tuesday after it was reported that his return from injury is now “imminent.” AD has been ramping up his activity in practice of late as he looks to come back in the coming days.

Lakers head coach Darvin Ham has now doubled down on these encouraging reports. While the first-year shot-caller refused to provide a specific target date for Davis' return, Ham's update from practice is a clear indication that AD is closing in on his much-awaited comeback:

“Lakers coach Darvin Ham said Anthony Davis ‘had another great day today' and will be evaluated on Wednesday morning. Lakers play the Spurs on Wednesday night,” reported league insider Mark Medina of NBA.com.

As the above report implied, Davis could be back in the mix for the Lakers as soon as Wednesday when they take on the San Antonio Spurs. If AD is unable to take the floor for that one, then his next chance to return would be on Saturday in a marquee matchup against their bitter rivals in the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden.

Anthony Davis' foot injury has cost him a total of 19 games on the sidelines, with Tuesday's tilt against the Los Angeles Clippers being his 20th missed contest. The Lakers have gone 10-9 during that stretch and it goes without saying that LeBron James and Co. desperately need to get him back if the Lakers want to remain relevant in the West.
