Los Angeles Lakers guard Dennis Schroder has obviously been learning a lot from teammate LeBron James, evidenced by the epic chasedown rejection he just pulled off against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Staples Center on Friday.

Lakers center Montrezl Harrell threw an errant pass around the six-minute mark of the third period, leading to a steal and a clear path for Cavs guard Darius Garland. It appeared Garland was on his way for his easiest two points of the evening, up until Dennis the Menace spoiled his plans.

The German speedster never gave up on the play and caught up with the streaking Garland on the break. Schroder timed it perfectly and swatted Garland's attempt to oblivion.

Wow. The King himself would have been proud of Dennis Schroder for that one.

It hasn't exactly been smooth sailing for Schroder and the reigning champions entering Friday's contest against Cleveland. The Purple and Gold have lost their last four outings and are struggling to find their identity with James and Anthony Davis out to injuries.

Schroder, however, has been doing everything he can to turn things around for the Lakers. He has been terrific in the game against the Cavs, scoring and distributing the ball to his teammates. Here's a highlight play of his two-man game with Harrell.

If Schroder continues to provide hustle plays like this in the coming games, then the Lakers will have a chance to hold the fort in LeBron and AD's absence.
