Dennis Schroder was one of the new additions for the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason. Some people are wondering if he'll be inserted into the starting lineup. While everyone assesses whether or not he should start, Frank Vogel discussed the potential of Schroder starting this season, per Mike Trudell of Spectrum Sportsnet.

At the beginning of the offseason, the Lakers didn't waste any time dominating headlines, manufacturing a trade for Schroder. Within the trade, Los Angeles sent Danny Green and a first-round pick to acquire the German-born guard.

For the past two seasons, Schroder has been with the Oklahoma City Thunder, serving as the team's best bench option. Just this past season, Schroder finished as the runner-up for the Sixth Man of the Year award, which was given to Montrezl Harrell — who also joined the Lakers this offseason.

Given the success he had off the bench in Oklahoma City, some believe that he'd be best suited to run the offense, similar to what Rajon Rondo did last season. However, Vogel believes Schroder can excel off the ball and can produce in transition with LeBron James on the floor with him.

There's no doubt that the Lakers had a successful offseason, improving their roster after winning the NBA title. Along with Schroder and Harrell, Los Angeles also brought in proven veterans like Wesley Matthews and Marc Gasol.

During his time with the Atlanta Hawks and Thunder, Schroder has been utilized in a variety of ways. While he could end up coming off of the bench at some point, Vogel isn't ruling out the idea of starting him to begin the season.
