Before Tuesday's contest against the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel spoke out about the NBA potentially postponing or playing closed-door games due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The coronavirus, called COVID-19 by the World Health Organization, is a contagious virus that can spread from person to person. According to CBS News, there have been more than 100 cases in 15 states as of Tuesday. In addition, there have been nine confirmed deaths in the United States due to the coronavirus.

The NBA has already worked on minimizing the spread of the virus between the players and the fans. Recently, the league sent out a memo to all 32 teams suggesting that players should utilize fist-bumps over high-fives with fans and should also avoid taking items. The Lakers are expected to follow the reminder, especially with the growing concern over the virus.

Nonetheless, Frank Vogel has done a phenomenal job coaching the Lakers in his first season. The team is currently first seed in the Western Conference with a record of 46-13.
