JJ Redick has been making a name for himself as a basketball analyst of late and he's now emerged as a rising star for ESPN. The fans seem to love Redick's takes on all things basketball. The former NBA journeyman turned broadcaster has now come out with a hot take on the Los Angeles Lakers that viewers will definitely want to hear.

Redick isn't very happy about the fact that Phil Jackson has been involved in the Lakers' search for a new head coach. The former Duke standout blasted the Lakers for what he considers to be a behavioral pattern of making the wrong decisions year after year. According to Redick, the fact that LA has only made it to the second round of the playoffs once in the past decade is a clear testament to this fact.

“The idea that they’re going to bring in Phil Jackson to help with the coaching search, given his record as an executive in New York, and with the hires he made – again it’s a pattern of behavior,” Redick said (h/t Peter Dewey of Lakers Daily). “It fits in their pattern of behavior. Other teams are not going to fall susceptible to that.”

Redick isn't the only one that has heavily criticized the Lakers for Phil Jackson's current role in their decision-making. His First Take co-host, Stephen A. Smith, also went on an even harsher tirade against Jackson and the Lakers, expressing how he still remains salty about Jackson's performance as a top executive for the Knicks.

Phil Jackson clearly isn't the most popular figure right now, but in the end, this still likely won't affect his influence over Jeanie Buss and the Lakers.
