During the Anthony Davis trade saga, Los Angeles Lakers guard Josh Hart felt like LeBron James and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope were the only untouchable players on the roster.

The Lakers aggressively tried to acquire Davis at the February trade deadline and basically made their entire roster available to the New Orleans Pelicans except for James and Caldwell-Pope — for reasons that are pretty obvious.

Davis, LeBron and Caldwell-Pope are represented by the same agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports. Hart, who is in his second year with the Lakers, said the Davis trade saga was “a weird situation.”

“You’re going through it and you’re like, ‘Alright, man.' You had no idea. Like, really, it seemed like nobody was untouchable honestly, besides LeBron and KCP,” Hart said on Danny Green's podcast (the episode was released two days ago, but it was recorded in March). “That was the only untouchable pieces.

“Fortunately for me, my name wasn’t really thrown in there until the last day when basically everyone on the roster was allegedly getting traded. It was just a weird situation because you had no idea.”

The Pelicans elected not to trade Davis, but the damage was already done in the Lakers locker room. All the players knew what was going on and the team was never able to recover from it. Los Angeles missed the playoffs in the first season of the LeBron era.

The Lakers are expected to try and trade for Davis again this summer. Hart will probably have to deal with trade rumors involving him once again.
