Los Angeles Lakers forward Julius Randle has yet to receive a formal offer from the team, but is reportedly “excited” for the arrival of LeBron James, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.

The two sides are expected to speak today, hopeful an offer for his services can be made.

Some have seen a potential long-term deal to retain him as an impossible task, after doling out a whopping $154 million over four years to James.

According to Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer, Randle could also take a one-year deal as a trial basis, likely able to boost his numbers even more by playing alongside James, setting himself up for a big 2019 free agency in which he can reel in even more bank.

Playing next to James has proved irresistible thus far, as the likes of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, JaVale McGee, and even Lance Stephenson agreed to one-year deals with the Lakers shortly after James' agreement went viral.

Randle had been reportedly upset with the Lakers after the fluctuation in his minutes from the start of last season, going from a third-string power forward to a starter by mid-season under head coach Luke Walton.

If he does decide to stay, it'll have to be with a compromise, as the long line of one-year deals only spells the front office making room for a potential run at another big-time free agent in 2019.
