Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma will miss his team's season finale against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night due to a foot injury, per Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints.

Kuzma played in 70 games this season, averaging 18.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists over 33.1 minutes per game while shooting 45.6% from the floor, 30.1% from 3-point range and 75.2% from the free-throw line.

The 23-year-old, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Utah, was originally selected by the Lakers in the first round (27th pick overall) of the 2017 NBA Draft.

He appeared in 77 contests during his rookie campaign, registering 16.1 points and 6.3 boards across 31.2 minutes a night while making 45% of his field goal attempts, 36.6% of his long-distance tries and 70.7% of his foul shots.

So ends a disappointing season for Kuzma and the Lakers, who were expected to be a playoff team in the Western Conference but are instead entering their final game of the 2018-19 campaign with a record of 37-44.

Los Angeles made the biggest splash in free agency last summer, signing LeBron James to a four-year deal. However, the Lakers were unable to lure any other free agents to come with him, and they were also not able to make any big trades during the season.

As a result of a thin roster and a whole lot of injuries, Los Angeles has labored through much of the year and is likely facing big changes this offseason, especially considering that much of its team is comprised of veterans on one-year deals.
