The Los Angeles Lakers are 0-2 to start the season. Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards, their trade partners on the Russell Westbrook trade, have begun the year at 2-0.

Kyle Kuzma, the key piece in the Lakers' trade package, spoke out on why the Wizards have zero regrets on pulling the trigger on the deal.

Via NBC Sports Washington:

“I mean, you gotta do that trade 10 out of 10 times,” said the former Lakers forward. “If you have an opportunity to get five good basketball players for one, it makes sense.”

“Granted, [Westbrook is] obviously a Hall of Fame player and everything. He's an unbelievable player, don't take that wrong,” Kuzma said. “But especially for a team like Washington, if you look at the track record from the past couple of years, it hasn't necessarily been enough ballplayers here… It's smart, you have to do it if you're a GM.”

Kuzma may not have directly said that the Wizards won the trade over the Lakers, but it's hard to argue that things haven't looked up in DC thus far. Kyle Kuzma has been a big part of the early success, tallying 18.5 points and 13.0 rebounds in his first two games in the nation's capital.

The Russell Westbrook trade can still turn into a win-win for the Lakers. But they need to hold their end of the bargain first.
