Change is inevitable for the Los Angeles Lakers. The team will undoubtedly look different when next season rolls around and many of the franchise's key figures could either be gone or heading towards the door.

Head coach Frank Vogel failing so badly to get his talent to mesh has reflected very badly on him. He has frequently been mentioned in firing rumors and his job security has been uncertain for a while now.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski explained why Frank Vogel is not in danger of losing his job. The Lakers brass is understanding that All-Star big man Anthony Davis has missed a lot of games, as has Kendrick Nunn, who they thought would have a sizable role. They also don't see what firing Vogel, who remains confident in the team, would change.

Vogel led the Lakers to a championship in his first year by developing a strong defensive identity. Obviously, LeBron James was, is and will be the main reason for their success but Vogel's contributions shouldn't go unnoticed. It makes sense for LA's management to give him the benefit of the doubt. Especially at this point in the season, canning him would indeed not do much to change the team's fate.

James previously threw his support behind the Lakers coaching staff, Vogel sounded secure in about position and former assistant coach Jason Kidd said that the duo can make it work. However, things can always change in the offseason. A new coach may become available that Los Angeles prefers to Vogel. They might fire him and look to get a coach that better suits the roster.

At least for the rest of this season, Vogel will seemingly remain the Lakers' head coach.
