Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel is keeping the faith. Amid all the uncertainty that has been brought about by his team's lackluster showing throughout the season, the 48-year-old shot-caller remains somewhat confident about his team's chances this term.

Vogel recently revealed the key ingredient LeBron James and the Lakers are missing right now. In his mind, the eventual return of Anthony Davis from injury should boost LA's chances this season:

“If [Anthony Davis] is able to come back and we catch the right matchup or catch a team at the right time and if we’re able to catch fire at the right time, we’re going to have a chance,” Vogel said, via Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

Davis has been on the shelf for a couple of weeks now due to a foot sprain and he's expected to miss at least two more weeks. According to earlier reports, AD will be re-evaluated in a couple of weeks' time so this doesn't necessarily mean that he will be able to return at that point. Time is running out for the Lakers, though, with just a little over 20 games remaining on their schedule for the regular season. Needless to say, they need Davis back ASAP.

Be that as it may, Vogel isn't ready to wave the white flag just yet. He even got a little bit philosophical in describing his steadfast mindset:

“Faith is defined as believing in something you cannot see,” said Vogel, via Michael Corvo of ClutchPoints.

At this point, the Lakers will need a lot of faith in themselves if they hope to salvage something out of this season.
