Two words. Pack Mentality. Those were written in the whiteboard of the Los Angeles Lakers' locker room following their 138-134 overtime loss against the Houston Rockets.

There can be several interpretations to this message, but the bottom line is, the Lakers should always be on the same page. Their mentality and approach towards each and every game should be the same; to compete and win.

They were able to do that for the past three games, which saw them earn an impressive win against the Oklahoma City Thunder a few days ago, also in overtime.

They could've won this game against the Rockets as well, as they led by as many as 17 points early in the third quarter. However, without their three best playmakers, the Lakers collapsed in the final 18 minutes of play and allowed the Rockets to make a comeback.

To simply put it, the ‘Pack Mentality' is just a reminder of what they've been doing the past couple of games. They were playing as a team and it is working. Despite the absence of superstar LeBron James and veteran playmaker Rajon Rondo, and despite Lonzo Ball twisting his ankle, and despite Luke Walton getting ejected, the team did not lose its composure against the Rockets. They may have lost, but they didn't stop fighting.

They are now faced with yet another daunting task, as they will collide once again with the Golden State Warriors, this time in Los Angeles. The Lakers beat them last Christmas, but the Dubs are now with DeMarcus Cousins, who made his debut against the Clippers yesterday.

Their mentality as a team is going to be tested big time.
