Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James continues to throw down with impunity even at 36. In the third period of the reigning champions' hosting of the New Orleans Pelicans at Staples Center, The King made sure to clean up Kyle Kuzma's missed opportunity and turned it to gold.

Kuz missed a point-blank shot after challenging the Pels' interior defense. But as always, LeBron came to the rescue and flew out of nowhere with a vicious one-handed follow-up hammer to extend his team's double-digit advantage.

By now, opposing teams should always be wary of where LeBron James is on the floor at all times. The Pelicans were doomed the moment they decided not to box out in that possession.

James and the rest of the Purple and Gold, meanwhile, are looking great so far in their quest for a repeat. Entering Friday's game, the Lakers hold the solo lead in the Western Conference standings with a 10-3 slate. The 4-time NBA MVP has a lot to do with that, averaging 24.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.5 assists on 48.3 percent shooting from the field and 38.6 from deep in 13 games.

LeBron James, now on his 18th season in the league, won't be done dunking on people anytime soon.
