Not even the return of LeBron James was enough for the Los Angeles Lakers to avoid a humiliating blowout loss at the hands of their bitter rivals, the Boston Celtics, on Friday night. Jayson Tatum and Co. spoiled LeBron's return to action as the Celtics managed a 130-108 victory over the Lakers.

LA will be back in action on Sunday to face off against the Detroit Pistons and at this point, it looks like LeBron will be back in street clothes again for that contest (h/t Kyle Goon of the Southern California News Group):

To be clear, the Lakers have not ruled LeBron out for Sunday's game. However, the fact that he's been tagged as questionable does not bode well for his chances of suiting up against the Pistons.

LeBron actually looked good against the Celtics and at certain points in the game, it didn't feel like he was coming back from a two-week absence. James put up 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting to go along with six rebounds, two assists, two steals, and three triples in 32 minutes of action.

The Pistons aren't exactly the best team in the league right now which could explain why LA is considering giving LeBron another night off. Then again, there are no easy games for the struggling Lakers at the moment. Let's just hope James did not suffer a setback during Friday's game vs. the Celtics.

After Sunday's tilt, the Lakers get Monday off. They return to action in a back-to-back set on Tuesday and Wednesday against the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers, respectively. LeBron's status for both games will also be worth monitoring.
