Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James can't catch a break this season. First, he missed a handful of games due to an abdominal strain, then he got suspended for an altercation with Isaiah Stewart, and now, The King has tested positive for COVID-19.

Shams Charania of The Athletic gave some insight on Bron's situation and a realistic timetable of how long he could be out of the Lakers' lineup:

So at this rate, James could return to the Lakers by next weekend. That would mean he would be sidelined for another six games or so, which is definitely a massive blow to an LA team that has struggled to stay healthy and find a rhythm this season.

Their next two contests won't be easy, either. They face the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday and then the Boston Celtics next Tuesday. After that, however, the Lakers take on the Memphis Grizzlies and OKC Thunder. Frank Vogel's squad is dealing with quite the injury bug as well, with Kendrick Nunn and Trevor Ariza yet to play in 2021/22, while Austin Reaves is also injured.

When on the floor, LeBron has looked solid. He's leading LA in scoring with 25.8 points per game while dishing out 6.8 assists and grabbing 5.2 rebounds per gamae. Let's hope he can register two negative tests sooner rather than later and get the Lakers back on track.
