LeBron James has long been chasing Michael Jordan's ghost. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar is forever tied to the Chicago Bulls legend, as the two are often pitted against each other in the greatest player of all-time debate. Now, it seems like LeBron has done one more thing to match MJ's illustrious resume.

Complex Sports reported that for the first time, LeBron's trademark logo will be worn on a university's jersey. The Lakers star will have his iconic “King” logo on the jerseys of Florida A&M University.

LeBron, for his part, was thrilled about this announcement.

This move from the Lakers star comes about a year after Nike and Jordan Brand officially acquired the rights to outfit UCLA basketball and football. This move came at the heels of a falling out between the university and Under Armour. The Bruins will don the iconic Jumpman logo starting July 1, joining five more universities who have already signed with Nike.

This is a huge move from LeBron James, as he's looking to secure his off-court impact once he retires. Despite popular belief that he's a cyborg, James is only human. At some point, the Lakers star will retire, and he wants to make sure that his name will still be well-known after he eventually hangs it up. Getting brand recognition from a significant sports program will definitely help LeBron's brand to be more visible.

Perhaps LeBron James is also looking to separate his shoe line and brand from Nike, just like MJ did with the Jordan Brand. It's not impossible. The Lakers star clearly has the resources to create and run the brand away from Nike. That being said, how long do you think it will take before we see LeBron's logo on an NBA jersey?
