It seems like Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is high on the team’s latest buyout acquisition Ben McLemore. James, who’s still sidelined due to high ankle sprain, tweeted that McLemore will be heard loud and clear in the next coming weeks—maybe from the three point line, where McLemore seems to be an expert at.

After an uneventful debut against the Miami Heat, McLemore found his rhythm on Saturday versus the Brooklyn Nets. The former Houston Rockets sniper missed a couple of shots to start the game but eventually exploded for 17 points with five three point shots. This is clearly what the Lakers need, given that shooting is perhaps one of if not their only weakness.

McLemore is a 36.3 percent three point shooter in his career and is hoping to help the defending championships in their offense. He’s also the perfect insurance for small forward Wesley Matthews or guard Kentavious Caldwell Pope, who both have been playing a ton of minutes since James and his co-star Anthony Davis have been sidelined. Matthews was a late scratch in Saturday’s game due to Achilles soreness hence why McLemore got his minutes.

The Lakers have had success with their buyout acquisitions in the past two years. Last year, they were able to acquire Markieff Morris who came up big for them in the playoffs. This year, they hope Andre Drummond and McLemore bring in something as well. The past two games have indicated that Drummond and McLemore have indeed been good signings for the Lakers.
