LeBron James has had a number of adversaries throughout his career. But perhaps none of those rivalries lasted as long as his almost decade-long beef with Guillermo, the lovable interviewer from Jimmy Kimmel Live! who the Los Angeles Lakers star has routinely ignored in playoffs past.

Guillermo was always trying to get on LeBron James' good graces, but came up short every time. It even got to the point when in 2017 he decided that he was going to be the one ignoring the Lakers star during his 3rd Finals clash against the Golden State Warriors:

But in the ultimate testament to the adage “persistence pays off”, Guillermo finally got the love he always wanted from LeBron James. The Lakers star finally admitted why he'd been giving Guillermo the cold shoulder all these years.

“See Guillermo, he gave me an opportunity to focus even more during all those Finals runs I had, I was saying to myself ‘If I could block him out, then the fans have no chance.'”

In a way, Guillermo was actually an integral part of LeBron James' title runs. Maybe he should consider sending him a ring or two for his contributions.

It's unfortunate that Guillermo wasn't able to help LeBron James and the Lakers during last year's NBA bubble Finals, for obvious reasons. But hopefully we can see King James finally show his buddy a great time during a future NBA Finals media day for once now that their secret is out.
