A former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate is blaming LeBron James, now on the Los Angeles Lakers, for ruining basketball. According to ex-Cavs player Iman Shumpert, James “ruined basketball” when he left Cleveland for the Miami Heat.

Shumpert shared his opinion on James' business decision on the Bootleg Kev podcast on Monday:

“It was Bron first going to Miami…Bron ruined basketball. He thought he was making it better, I get it…Me personally, I love the NBA for the loyalty that I thought was there. He basically knocked the fourth wall down…Great business move, for sure.”

In his rant on the Lakers star, Shumpert claims that James ruined basketball in 2010 when he ditched his team for Miami. Shumpert alluded to the lack of loyalty James had for his original team and the organization that drafted him first overall in 2003, saying that he bashed the Cavs' owners in his departure.

During his first seven years with the Cavs, LeBron never won a championship. King James was tired of being a part of a team that was unable to produce and joined the stacked Heat roster. This is where he won his first two championships.

After four seasons with the Heat, James returned to Cleveland for a second stint in 2014, when he played with Shumpert. James picked up another championship with the Cavs in 2016. The two played together from 2015 (when Shumpert joined the team) to 2018.

The Lakers have been mediocre this season, with a record of 16-15. Fortunately for James, it looks like he is getting some new teammates to work with in order to turn their season around.
