The Los Angeles Lakers saw their season officially come to an end on Thursday following another blowout loss at the hands of the Phoenix Suns. LeBron James was clearly not a hundred percent throughout the series and now, the four-time NBA champ has decided to open up about his injury status after their season-ending loss.

According to LeBron, he knew about the risks of playing through his high ankle sprain. At this point, however, James isn't sweating the injury too much:

“I’m not worried about anything,” James told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. “I just need rest. I was told that from the beginning. I gave what I had.”

LeBron is no longer the young man he once was, and at 36, his many years in the league have taken a toll on his body. The Lakers star isn't as robust as he once was, and at this point in his career, the injuries are amplified. According to reports, James was just “85% healthy for the series, but that percentage fluctuated game-to-game.”

We have to give credit to LeBron for playing through what appears to be a significant injury. It's too early to tell if he re-aggravated the injury or if this will have a long-term impact on his health. However, based on his statement above, the Lakers star is adamant that he'll be fine.

It's going to be a very interesting next couple of months for the Lakers, who will have a number of key personnel decisions to make this summer. LeBron will definitely be an influential voice within the organization, so it will be interesting to see how the pieces fall.
