A number of NBA players ripped into FOX News' Laura Ingraham for defending Drew Brees' controversial comments about kneeling during the anthem after she had previously ripped NBA stars like LeBron James and Kevin Durant for speaking out on political issues. She infamously scolded them by telling them to “shut up and dribble.” LeBron strongly criticized Brees on Wednesday, so it's no surprise the Los Angeles Lakers star went after Ingraham when he saw her defending Brees:

LeBron James is usually never hesitant to speak out on political issues, especially when they involve social injustice. The Lakers star has also never been shy to criticize United States President Donald Trump, which is just one of the reasons why Ingraham criticized him back in 2018 for being so outspoken on these matters.

The future Hall of Famer turned those negative comments into something good by producing a docuseries called “Shut Up and Dribble.” The three-part series highlights the evolving role of black athletes in today's society.

This is especially relevant now with all the NBA players making their voices known over the past week in the wake of George Floyd's murder at the hands of Minneapolis police. We have seen a number of NBA players, both stars and role players, taking to the streets and joining in on peaceful protests. They've also been very vocal on Twitter, using their sizable platforms to spread the message that Black Lives Matter.

While LeBron James hasn't taken part in any of the protests just yet, he has consistently made his voice heard on Twitter over the last week. The Lakers star is never going to just “shut up and dribble,” and he's going to continue trying to make the world a better place while also remaining a star on the basketball court until he retires.
