Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James and rapper Travis Scott have teamed up to donate a gift for the Class of 2020:

Since students who are graduating this year can't have a proper graduation ceremony due to COVID-19, numerous celebrities and athletes have been doing their part to try and uplift the students' spirits. LeBron is hosting a special graduation ceremony on Saturday night, with Barack Obama even scheduled to give a speech.

This is a great gesture by LeBron James and Travis Scott. Travis is a big Houston Rockets fan, but he and LeBron have developed a friendship over the years.

Before the 2019-20 season was suspended, LeBron and the Lakers had the best record in the Western Conference standings. The Purple and Gold were 49-14 and James was playing at an MVP level.

The King was averaging 25.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 10.6 assists for the Lakers while shooting 49.8 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from beyond the arc and 69.7 percent from the free-throw line.

NBA owners are hopeful of resuming the season in the summer and then finishing it in September. Lakers veteran Jared Dudley is confident that the season will resume at some point in July. However, none of that is possible until the coronavirus pandemic dies down.

Lakers fans are obviously desperate to see playoff basketball since the franchise hasn't made the postseason since 2013. The NBA conference finals were supposed to start on May 19. Most pundits had the Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers meeting in the Western Conference Finals.

LeBron missed the playoffs in 2018-19 for the first time since his second year in the NBA. The four-time MVP and three-time champion will have missed out on a golden chance to get ring No. 4 if the 2019-20 season gets canceled altogether.
