Nowadays, it's rare to find a professional athlete that has a clean social media history, and Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball was the latest athlete to get publicly shamed for something that he tweeted years ago.

An eagle eyed Lakers fan spotted a message Ball had broadcast to the world over six years ago:

The tweet is in reference to the matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Lakers that ended with the Lakers getting beat down by 125-94.

The Lakers leading scorer that night was Xavier Henry, and he only scored 14 points on 4/11 shooting. The Warriors star was a familiar face: Klay Thompson dropped 38 points on an insanely efficient 15/19.

While Lonzo Ball was certainly right about his current team getting destroyed, this is an interesting turn of events. Just a few years after the tweet, Ball was drafted with the number two overall pick and expected to be the face of the franchise.

Unfortunately for Laker fans, the UCLA product has not lived up to the hype. He is averaging only 9.9 points a game, as well as 5.4 assists.

The point guard has really struggled with his stroke, and is currently only shooting 32 percent from three-point range.

To add salt to the wound, Ball has dealt with several injuries in his sophomore season. He is currently dealing with an ankle sprain that will cost him approximately four to six weeks.

Laker fans can only hope that Ball will eventually find a consistent shooting stroke and stay healthy.
