Los Angeles Lakers rising star Lonzo Ball received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his left knee after the end of his season.

According to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN, Ball said that the procedure forced him out of basketball-related activities for a month or so.

To recall, Ball missed the final eight games of last season due to a left knee contusion. The PRP injection aims to treat and, at the same time, strengthen his injured knee.

Now, Ball is back on the weight room and the basketball court:

“I just got back [on the court],” Ball told ESPN at the Big Baller Brand Junior Basketball Association media day at Citizens Business Bank Arena, where he joined his father and brothers. “But I have been lifting weights. Nothing stopped me from doing that. I just got back on the court though, but everything is feeling good.”

After about a month of letting the knee heal, Ball says that his mission in the offseason to get better every day. Specifically, Ball intends to bulk up and put on some weight. He will also work on his ball-handling and shooting:

“Just keep working. As simple as it is, don't make it any harder than it has to be,” Ball said of this being a pivotal summer for him. “For me, just getting in the gym and get better.

“Just been in the weight room, trying to put on that weight. And on the court, a lot of ballhandling, a lot of shooting. I am trying to critique everything and fine tune and get ready for next year.”
