The struggling Los Angeles Lakers have been drastically missing Lonzo Ball. Since leaving the Lakers’ Jan. 19 game against the Houston Rockets after suffering an ankle injury, Ball has missed 17 games. During that stretch the Lakers have gone 5-12.

There is a little good news for the team, and they can use just about any good news there is to receive. A video posted by Ryan Ward showed Ball getting up some jump shots at the Lakers practice facility on Tuesday afternoon.

Injury has been an ongoing issue for the Lakers throughout the season. In addition to Ball missing some, time, they also saw Brandon Ingram sidelined at times, as well as LeBron James missing the longest stretch of games in his NBA career. It appears they will now be playing without Ball, Ingram, and Kyle Kuzma after the latter sustained an injury during the team’s match against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Through the stretch of games they have played without Ball, the team has not looked the same and faced roster limitations. With Rajon Rondo the only other true point guard on the roster for the Lakers, Ingram was forced to start a number of games at the point and they were left with no option other than to rely on LeBron to facilitate the offense more than expected, only further limiting him on the defensive end.

It is good to see that Ball will be making his way back before to long, but it may be too late for this Los Angeles team. Sitting at 5.5 games out of the playoff picture, their chance to make some noise in the postseason could be out of reach.
