High-profile rookie guard Lonzo Ball has shown some flashes of brilliance averaging a near triple-double for the Los Angeles Lakers this season but behind those solid performances is a kryptonite that keeps him from becoming one of the league's most feared superstars — which is his terrible shooting percentage.

The 20-year-old Ball who records 10 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists a night is dead last in the league when it comes to making shots in the restricted area, converting just 47.3 percent of his shots when he's shooting about two feet near the hoop.

As per NBA analyst Nate Duncan:

“Of all NBA players over 100 shots in the restricted area, Lonzo Ball's 47.3% shooting (69/146) ranks last. He shot over 70% at the rim at UCLA last year”

The former UCLA standout who became the youngest player in NBA history to register a triple-double has been a terrible finisher converting just 37.1 percent of his field goals and on top of that is atrocious shooting from the charity stripe making just 48.1 percent of his free throws.

By far, Ball's best shooting game of the season was against the San Antonio Spurs last Jan. 11 in which he finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and six assists while converting seven of his 11 field goals and shooting a career-high of 57 percent from three-point country.

While the 2016 California Mr. Basketball awardee has brought a glimmer of hope in the foreseeable future of the Lakers drawing comparisons to Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson, it is quite certain that Ball has a lot of work ahead to do especially in the shooting department to reach his maximum potential and become the best player he can be.
