Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball is back in action and looked pretty good on Monday against the Atlanta Hawks. According to an interview with Lakers head coach Luke Walton during Wednesday's team practice, Lonzo should see even more minutes for Thursday night's game against the Miami Heat.

“His knee felt good and he looked good in practice today. The minutes restriction will go higher next game,” coach Walton said.

In Lonzo's second game back following a 15-game absence due to a sprained MCL, the 20-year-old was perfect from the field during Monday's 123-104 road victory over the Hawks. In just 24 minutes of action, Lonzo was extremely efficient and had 13 points on 4-of-4 shooting, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals off the bench.

In a postgame interview with Lakers sideline reporter Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet, coach Walton said that he was really impressed with Lonzo's shot and defensive mindset.

“Really good. Defensively, I thought he could have had four or five steals. He was right there on a couple of them that he actually got in the second half. Obviously, his three-point shot still looks good,” Walton said after Monday's victory. “It was good to have him out there. We would have liked to play him more, but we'll take the minutes he got.”

The Lakers finished out the month of February with three straight victories, including two of them on the road. However, the two remaining games of their four-game road trip get much more difficult when they take on the Heat tomorrow night and then the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night.
