Although Lonzo Ball and Julius Randle's huge games took the spotlight from the blowout win by the Los Angeles Lakers over the Denver Nuggets Sunday, Luke Walton also gave credit to two of his players who played incredible defense on the night, helping them come out with the win as well.

The second year head coach spoke highly about the way Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Corey Brewer gave a lot of effort on the defensive end. Both players recorded four steals each, which is a testament to how aggressive they were in pestering their opponents.

During the second quarter, Caldwell-Pope and Brewer stayed on the floor together, and ignited a huge 18-2 run, that gave the Lakers the lead, which they did not relinquish for the remainder of the game. The two forced four straight turnovers from the Nuggets, and their teammates did not disappoint by converting on fastbreak buckets on the other side of the court.

If the two will continue to play as aggressive on defense like how they played on Sunday, it will increase the chances of the Lakers to string a few wins together, and improve on their current 7-10 win-loss slate.

They may have a losing record now, but with a shift in momentum on their side, coupled with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Corey Brewer playing elite defense, a turnaround in the team's fortunes may happen soon.
