The Los Angeles Lakers could be getting a little boost as they enter the stretch run of the season. According to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN, there is a chance that Brandon Ingram returns during the road trip.

Brandon Ingram said the next step to returning is to go on the court and ramp it up with the team. The next practice for the Lakers likely is early next week in New Orleans after they play in Indiana on Monday. “He obviously is coming with us on the road trip,” Luke Walton said. “I wouldn't be surprised if he plays on the road trip. He is feeling much better he says. But we are going to keep being patient with him and make sure that he goes through all the proper channels before we throw him back out there.”

Ingram has missed the last eight games with a groin injury, and the Lakers have struggled a bit going 4-4 during the stretch.

After having some struggles last season, Ingram has burst onto the scene this year. He has played 57 games this year and averaged 16.2 rebounds, 5.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. He has shot 46.9 percent from the field, and 38 percent from deep.

The Lakers will start a three-game road trip on Monday night against the Indiana Pacers. They will finish off the road trip playing the Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans before returning home.

The Lakers still have a shot to make the playoffs although it's a long shot, but if they want any chance, they probably need a sweep of the road trip.
