A familiar face to LeBron James could emerge as a potential head coaching candidate for the Los Angeles Lakers after firing Frank Vogel last week.

The team is in the midst of an in-depth search for their next boss as they aim to turn things around in 2022/23 and return to the playoffs following a forgettable campaign. While major changes need to be made to the roster, hiring the right HC with experience and expertise is just as important.

That being said, the Lakers are reportedly interested in former assistant and the ex-coach of LeBron James in Cleveland, Mike Brown, according to the LA Times.

However, he is just one of several candidates Los Angeles is eyeing, including the likes of Nick Nurse, Terry Stotts, and Scott Brooks. To be honest, this is arguably one of the toughest jobs in professional sports thanks to the immense pressure that comes along with it. Brown meanwhile hasn't been a head coach since 2013-14, having served as the assistant with the Warriors since 2016.

Brown did previously coach the Lakers in 2011-12 though, leading them to a 41-25 record and a conference semifinals appearance. But, he was fired the next season after only five games. There is no doubt he definitely has comradery with LeBron, which is very important. It will be interesting to see if LA pursues him this offseason.
