Los Angeles Lakers fans around the world tuned in to the team's preseason game against the Denver Nuggets in hopes of getting the first look at the reconstructed team built around LeBron James. While they finally did get to see James in some action wearing purple and yellow, one of the Lakers' other offseason acquisitions, Michael Beasley, was forced to exit the game due to a head laceration.

Beasley came off the bench and played only six minutes before sustaining the head injury that would knock him out of the game. He scored four points and had one block in his Lakers debut, but also turned the ball over twice.
Article Continues BelowThe Lakers brought in Beasley to provide a scoring burst off the energy, as he is still considered a formidable threat to score the ball in his 11th NBA season.
Last season, the crafty lefty was a bright spot in an otherwise lousy season for the New York Knicks. He averaged 13.2 points per game, the highest he has had since the 2010-11 season when he was still with Minnesota Timberwolves. Beasley also shot a surprising 39 percent from behind the arc, the second highest mark of his career.
The former second overall pick has never fully lived up to lofty expectations, but he has a chance to rejuvenate his career with these new-look Lakers. Hopefully, the injury is not too serious and we will see Beasley suit up for Los Angele's next preseason game against the Nuggets on Oct 2.
