Russell Westbrook had a less-than-ideal start to his career with the Los Angeles Lakers. In fact, it was a rather forgettable one after a turnover-galore in his first preseason game wearing purple and gold.

Brodie played nine minutes in the first quarter of the Lakers' preseason showdown with the Golden State Warriors. However, what was expected to be a hot start for the LA newcomer became a nightmare to watch after he committed seven turnovers without scoring a point. He had two rebounds and one steal, but there's really nothing he showed that the team and the fanbase would be happy about.

Of course after witnessing such performance from Russell Westbrook, critics and basketball aficionado's were quick to mock the Lakers. After all, there were so much hype surrounding the team after they acquired Westbrook in the offseason to form their new โ€œBig 3.โ€

Fox Sports analyst and renowned LeBron James hater Skip Bayless quickly took advantage of the opportunity to lambast James, Westbrook and the Lakers, saying that the performance is a sign of more ugly things to come for the franchise.

Others can't help but poke fun at Westbrook and criticize his performance with โ€œgarbageโ€ remarks.

Meanwhile, some referenced and mocked Westbrook's recent comments about Kobe Bryant and how he hopes to make the Lakers legend proud as he wears the team's iconic threads.

Things didn't get any better for Westbrook in his 17 minutes of play in their eventual 121-114 loss. The so-called Triple-Double King finished with just two points on top of seven rebounds and four assists. He went 1-of-7 from the field without attempting any 3-pointer.

While Lakers fans certainly won'tย  like what they have seen, they are certainly hoping things will be better as Russ gets acclimated to Frank Vogel's offense.
