Former NBA player Sam Perkins believes the Los Angeles Lakers will eventually get Anthony Davis, but he doesn't think Kevin Durant is coming to Los Angeles to play with LeBron James.

Anthony Davis, as we all know, has requested a trade from the New Orleans Pelicans and reportedly prefers to play for the Lakers. The Pelicans are expected to resume trade talks with other teams once the offseason begins.

Kevin Durant, meanwhile, can become an unrestricted free agent this summer if he declines his 2019-20 player option with the Warriors. There have been rumors that KD might consider joining James in Los Angeles, especially if the Lakers acquire Davis.

Sam Perkins, however, doesn't think Durant is coming to the Lakers, but appears to be confident that LA will get Davis.

Perkins played three seasons for the Lakers during his NBA career. He also played for the Dallas Mavericks, Seattle SuperSonics, and Indiana Pacers.

Davis can become a free agent in the summer of 2020. It is widely assumed that Davis will be only a rental player to any team that trades for him besides the Lakers. However, there have been reports which have claimed that AD wouldn't mind signing an extension with the New York Knicks or Milwaukee Bucks.

As for Durant, it really doesn't make any sense for him to join LeBron. KD wants to surpass James' legacy, so why would he help LeBron win more titles?
