Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few months, you probably know the LeBron James is now a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. His move has generated a lot of excitement in La La Land and a lot of pundits are excited with the future of the Lakers franchise with James and the young core that they have.

One of the newest members of the roster Sviatoslav “Svi” Mykhailiuk is also excited having James as his new teammate. In an interview with Diario AS, Mykhailiuk said,

“It’s great to be able to play with him. What can I say? He’s the best player in the world and has a lot of knowledge of the game. I’ll try to learn from him as much as I can.”

He also said the he has already met with James a few weeks ago. He added,

“He didn’t tell me anything special. He seemed like a pretty normal person to me and I hope to be a good teammate of him”

Mykhailiuk, the 47th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of the University of Kansas, will surely benefit from playing with a guy like James who can collapse the defense and make pinpoint passes to a shooter like him.

Last Friday, Mykhailiuk led Ukraine to a triumph over Spain in the first day of the second round of the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers. The Ukrainian forward scored 22 points and had five steals to help his national team upset the Spaniards.

For now, it is quite unclear if Mykailiuk will get the minutes in coach Luke Walton's rotation but he was clear on his goals for this season,

“It’s my first year. I want to help the team in any way I can, whether I play or not. Above all, I want to be a good teammate.”

At the Las Vegas Summer League, the 21-year-old averaged 16.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists for the runner up Lakers.
