It has been just over a month since LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers bowed out of the 2021 NBA Playoffs, but players like Talen Horton-Tucker want to get the work started. Horton-Tucker is taking no days off and went back to the lab to work on his shooting with none other than NBA shooting coach Chris Matthews aka Lethal Shooter.

Here's THT getting some reps in to improve his jump shot (via @LakersvsHaters):

Matthews also had the chance to work on other Lakers members like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Kyle Kuzma last season, and both players' 3-point percentages enjoyed quite a bump from the previous year. Now, Matthews is hoping he can do the same for the young guard.

THT showed more intriguing flashes as a player in his second season, but he still struggles from outside. The youngster shot just 28.2% from 3-point range after barely making over 30% as a rookie. In a season where the Lakers badly needed some outside shots to fall down the stretch, guys like THT, unfortunately, ended up missing their marks.

After a shortened offseason coming from their successful run in the NBA Bubble last year, the entire Lakers camp has the chance to get some much-needed rest and energy heading to the 2021-2022 season. THT believes that if his team wants to contend for the 2022 title, the job has to start as early as now.

Aside from working on his shot, the Chicago native has also been spending some time in the boxing ring. Don't be surprised if Horton-Tucker comes out of the offseason with guns blazing.
