The Los Angeles Lakers had an early first-round exit at the hands of the Phoenix Suns after a key injury to Anthony Davis and a far from healthy LeBron James. While the Lakers have been off for a couple of weeks, youngster Talen Horton-Tucker is already back at it in preparation of the 2021-2022 season and, perhaps, a bigtime payday over the summer.

Horton-Tucker posted a video on his Instagram page, and surely teams will be calling for his services over the summer.

Yes, Horton-Tucker is wasting no time getting out there and improving his stature in an effort to get a contract in the offseason.

Despite playing a minimal role in his rookie year as the Lakers went on to win the NBA title, his role increased plentiful in his sophomore campaign. Horton-Tucker averaged nine points a game and just over 20 minutes while playing in more than 65 games for the Lakers and was thrust into the starting lineup down the stretch, especially after the swarm of injuries and COVID-19 issues that surrounded the Lakers.

He flashed his potential and got Lakers fans giddy, although there is no guarantee he will be back next season due to the Lakers' financial situation. He will have his fair share of suitors in free agency, although it certainly wouldn't be a surprise to see him don the purple and gold next season if the Lakers can offer him enough.

The Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers are just a couple of the teams who have expressed interest in him, although basically every team can use a young player like Horton-Tucker, who made headlines for his game-winning shot against the New York Knicks in May.

This offseason will be interesting for the Lakers, and Horton-Tucker will have a lot of calls coming his way.
