DeMarcus Cousins has a warrant out for his arrest due to a domestic violence allegation. However, Cousins reportedly cannot make the trip to Alabama to turn himself in to the appropriate authorities due to his recent ACL surgery, per TMZ Sports.

The Mobile Police Dept. has confirmed the warrant for the Los Angeles Lakers big man's arrest. The warrant stems from a phone call Cousins allegedly made to his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child.

Christy West, the mother of Cousins' 7-year-old child, alleged Cousins threatened to “put a bullet” in her head after she refused to allow their child to attend his wedding in Atlanta this past weekend.

Cousins is reportedly willing to cooperate with law enforcement, but his recent surgery on his ACL means he has still not been given clearance by his doctors to fly.

There are no specific details as to where Cousins had his surgery, but it reportedly was not in Alabama. Most doctors recommend not flying for days or weeks after an ACL surgery because of the clotting risks.

Cousins is facing a third-degree misdemeanor for harassing communications, which carries a sentence of up to a year behind bars. Since he will be in further legal trouble if he fails to turn himself in, he is reportedly communicating with the authorities for a compromise.
