Los Angeles Lakers icon Shaquille O'Neal claims the late Kobe Bryant will be on the cover of NBA 2K21.

The former Lakers center told Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on the “Scoop B” Radio podcast that the game should consider doing “Kobe challenges.” The popular video game did the “Jordan challenges” in the game which featured Chicago Bulls great and NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan on the cover:

“There is going to be Kobe. You don’t even have to worry about that,” O'Neal said. “Definitely going to be Kobe. And I don’t know what they’re going to do with the money, but they’re going to do the right thing. Kobe’s family does the right thing.

“I think that would be brilliant, the kids would eat it up, he’s definitely a big inspiration to all the kids and an inspiration to my kids. So I’m sure the kids would eat it up…but you can’t be giving your ideas away on your podcast [laughs]… you know somebody’s listening. Be careful.”

Bryant is the greatest Lakers player of all time. He won five championships with the Lakers, including three with Shaq and two more with Pau Gasol.

The “Kobe challenges” would be fun for NBA 2K fans. Trying to score 81 points or drop 60 in Bryant's last NBA game ever would be fun and difficult challenges, that's for sure.

With the Lakers during the regular season, Bryant had averages of 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists. He was an 18-time All-Star, two-time Finals MVP and the 2008 regular-season MVP.

There will never be another Kobe Bryant. The Lakers icon's death is still hard to process, but we can always remember the legendary moments Kobe gave us. Getting the chance to relive those moments in NBA 2K21 would be a great way to do it.
